I’ve seen rivers turn the color of rust

Forests cut down, left to the dust

The sky once clear now carries a haze

And the sun burns hotter through the summer days

 

We’re the ones holding the Gun

And they’re the last to run

Every heartbeat we erase

Another life leaves this place

I’ve heard the songs of birds gone still

Fields gone quiet on the far-off hill
