Who really Won

Drums went silent, the bell took on,
The sound of peace rings perfect song.

The streets shout loud, the hearts stay still,
The war is done, but not the will.
The guns all gone, the world moves on,
I still can hear the battle drum.
Freedom came with what was done.

Was there another way,
To stop that bleed before we pray?

Who really won, when the rivers run,
When war is sung for the men long gone.
What do we gain when the peace’s begin,
Where graces remain, near a hearth with pain.

The flags hang low in this morning rain,
The prayers still go, but none explain.
The cannons quiet, but the hearts still cry,
The peaces we earned still ask us why.
We bled for truth and liberty,
But freedom came with misery.

I’ve seen the light in shadows fade,
I hoped for peace and also prayed.
Fields of glory where we once bled,
Whisper the names the silence fed

Who really won, when the rivers run,
When war is sung for the men long gone.
Who really won, when the rivers run,
When war is sung for the men long gone.
Who really won, when the rivers run,
When war is sung for the men long gone.
The bells ring low through broken skies,
And fade like prayers
Who really won, when the rivers run,
When war is sung for the men long gone.
The bells ring low through broken skies,
And fade like prayers

Who really won, when the rivers run,
When war is sung for the men long gone.
The bells ring low through broken skies,
And fade like prayers the wind denies.
